# Setting Up Check-In Staff & Scanning Users in Oveit

Oveit makes it simple for your team to handle ticket check-ins, verify ticket validity, and estimate attendance trends — all through a dedicated check-in account.

This guide will walk you through:

- Creating a check-in staff account
- Assigning the right permissions
- Using the check-in tools (admin and mobile app)
- Viewing attendance reports

---

## Step 1: Create a Check-In Staff Account

1. **Go to the Team Section**
In your Oveit dashboard, navigate to **Team > Users**.
2. **Add a New Team Member**
   Click on **"Create User"**.
3. **Set Up Credentials**
   - Create a **username** for the staff (e.g., `checkin.staff`).
   - Add their **email address**.
   - Set a **password** or **send them an invitation**.
4. **Assign Role: Event Check-In Staff**
From the dropdown, choose the **“Event check-in staff”** role.
   This grants them access to:
   - Scan tickets using the mobile app
   - Check in attendees
   - Pair RFID tags (if applicable)
   - View attendance trends by date (but **not** revenue data)

---

## Step 2: Attendance Report Access

The check-in staff can view:

- **Visitor Flow by Date**:
Helps estimate attendance trends for specific dates and events.

> 🔍 Example:
> Even if an event (like a demo) has no ticket registrations, real events will display a graph of expected attendance across multiple dates and ticket types.

**Note**: Check-in staff cannot view sales or revenue-related data.

---

## Step 3: Using the Check-In Account (Web app)

### Web Dashboard Experience:

Once logged in as a check-in staff:

- Access to **All Events**
- Limited permissions focused on:
  - Viewing attendees
  - Scanning tickets
  - Accessing attendance reports

### Mobile App (Oveit Check-in Web App):

1. Press the "Scan" button or visit **[Oveit Check-in](https://checkin.oveit.com/)** web app.
2. Log in using the check-in staff's **email and password**.
3. Use the simplified interface to:
   - **Scan tickets** at entry points
   - **Scan addons** at relevant points in the venue
   - Monitor attendee flow in real-time

---

## Final Tips

- Use check-in accounts to streamline entrance operations.
- Attendance reports help staff prepare for visitor flow on specific dates.
- Ideal for entrance staff, venue operators, or RFID station staff.
